Saint-Mère-Église Cycle Race: Between History and Escape

In the heart of the Cotentin Peninsula, set off on a unique adventure along roads steeped in history. The race starts in Saint-Mère-Église, the first village to be liberated during the Normandy landings, made famous by American paratrooper John Steele, who was caught on the church steeple on the night of 6 June 1944.

The route will take you through the authentic landscapes of La Manche: Pont l’Abbé, Montebourg, Valognes, Saint-Pierre-Église… then you will follow the wild coast towards Cosqueville, where the sea and cliffs will guide your efforts.

Then head for the iconic maritime villages of the Cotentin: Gatteville, Barfleur, Landemer and Quettehou. Here, the unique light of the English Channel will accompany your pedalling.

As you reach the hamlet of Les Cruttes, you will be cycling close to history: all the D-Day beaches line your route. From Utah Beach to Carentan, via Brucheville, every kilometre is a journey into the memory of the soldiers who came to liberate Europe.

This cyclosportive is much more than a race: it is a sporting, cultural and memorial journey through Normandy’s heritage, magnificent seascapes and a tribute to those who have marked history.

Join us in Saint-Mère-Église and write your own adventure story, combining effort and memories.
From 30 to 150 km, there’s a route for everyone. E-bikes are permitted on all routes except the long one. Participants must be aged 14 or over for the long route and 16 or over for the short and medium routes.
